Bill Belsey
Bill Belsey is a husband, father and Canadian educator.
Mr Belsey was honoured with the Prime Minster's Award for Teaching Excellence and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contributions to education. He is a recipient of the Edna Dach Educator of the Year Award by the Alberta Teachers' Association. He is a recipient of the Royal Bank Fellowship from the Mathematics, Science and Technology Group at Queen’s University and the Roy C. Hill Fellowship for Innovations in Education. His pioneering work has been featured in an exhibit at the Canadian Museum of Civilization as one of Canada’s “Global Heroes”. He was named a finalist in the Stockholm Challenge Awards, an award that has been called the Nobel Prize of the Information Technology (IT) world.
Mr Belsey created, and then managed the world's most-visited Website about bullying to support youth for over two decades. was the first to coin, then define the behaviour now know known around the world as cyberbullying.
Mr Belsey currently teaches at RancheView School in Cochrane, Alberta.
